ABOUT

I believe teaching is a special kind of service for the people and the community whose values the teaching is a way to develop, maintain, and hand down to younger generations. Teaching, therefore, is not merely accumulating knowledges but developing members in the values and magnifying the values among the students to use the knowledges in productive ways. As the scaffolding metaphor addresses well, which Lev Vygotsky inspired by his Zone of Proximal Development theory (Verenikina, 2003), teaching is basically helping students professionally to expand their current status of understanding, apply their knowledge, and solidify their understanding and skill in higher and higher level. The teacher is the one that should make it happen as a professional provider of scaffold in education.
